For consideration I have LQ quikbounce, flash bracket, 2 x 600EXRT and transmitter.

First Scenario

At the weekend I got my camera out for a "pre-wedding party" at the mother-in-law's house. I ended up ramping my ISO, 800/1600.

It got suggested that I should consider using a flash. At the time because I was using 1.2 for candids in cramped conditions, i didn't really think of needing it..

The actual wedding party

A lot of it will be outside, I took photos in the same environment a year ago for our engagement party. They were pretty noisy..

Should I plan to use a flash? and since this next event will be at night outside - what kind of modifier?

I'd do a mixture of flash and ambient. The ambient only capture atmosphere, you could also try to balance ambient and flash for some shots so the flash isn't too harsh. The quick bounce should be adequate to stop the flash from being to full on and softening it. For shots inside a simple bounce off the ceiling will no doubt be adequate.

Use the QuikBounce as intended - flaps open indoors (assuming a white ceiling) and closed outside. Adjust shutter speed to balance with ambient to taste, or use the second gun to light the background.
