Yes
I currently have a Sony A700 which I enjoy using but I have my eyes on the Sony A77 which I would like to upgrade too however I also would like to get the Sigma 10-20 lens too.

The problem is I can't decide on which to get.

Am I correct in saying its glass every time before camera if I am keeping the same fitting?

Just want to get peoples opinion on this.

Would the A65 do instead of the A77?

I don't think it is necessarily one above the other all the time. Some times you need body improvements (better AF, faster fps) and sometimes you need lens improvements eg a range that your current lenses don't cover at all. Better lowlight performance can be tackled with both faster lenses and better bodies.

Yeah the a77 is definitely the one I want as opposed to the a65.

I think that buying the lens would be more beneficial in the long term.

Argg decisions decisions.

The lens I have got are tamron 17-50, minolta 50mm, minolta 70-210 beer can and samyang 8mm fisheye so I think the sigma would fit in quite nicely.

But then on other hand I can get the a77 body for 819 with 100 cash back from UK digital.

I use a Sony A77 and wouldnt change it for the world, but i have also bought alot of lenses and have realised that the lens make a bigger difference than the body. The A65 has the same sensor as the 77 so would be a cheaper alternative.

How about the Sigma 8-16 HSM instead of the 10-20?
If I was buying a wide in Sony mount atm for APS-C it would be either that or the Tokina 11-16.

I guess it depends on what you shoot, but I would have thought getting more / better glass would be a higher priority than switching from an A700 to an A77.

In addition to the UW, you might want to consider switching the beercan for a Tamron 70-300 USD (or Sony 70-300G, if you can find a s/h one at a good price) - both would give extra reach and superior IQ.
