I have problems with my Canon350 twice. I read on the forums that other people have had problems with there Cameras also.Should Camera Companies Waterproff there 35mm Cameras?I know that some of the Cameras are enviremental sealed, but should all 35mm digital be enviremental sealed???

The only 35mm equivelant digital camera I know of is the Canon 5D. If you're talking about DSLRs then yes it would be nice if they were all enviromentally sealed but that would put the price up of every model. Plus there's no real point having an enviromentally sealed camera if the lens attached to the front isn't sealed and that just adds more expense.

I've had my camers out in light rain and severe dust and it's never stopped working. What are you doing with your 350D that's causing you so many problems?

Kev dont know why 350D went down twice and I do have sealed lens. The expence does not matter too much. That 5D would be in my hands today, if it was sealed. The mark 3 that is coming out is sealed, but I would rather go for 5D if it was sealed........Decisions Decisions Decisions

I think you'll have to join the Q for a weather sealed 'small' body from canon...there's been many grumblings why they haven't already produced one in fact, especially since nikon have a 'moderately' protected D200. It doesn't make a difference if your lenses are sealed - if the body isn't then thats the vulnerable part, to be effective it has to be lens and body. at present only 1 series digital bodies are sealed...strangely of the 35mm cameras canon sealed the Eos 3 as well as 1 series, so who knows what might lie ahead?

ive had my camera out in some dreadful rain and mud conditions and its had no problems

and its only a 20D

drop it in salt water and then see what happens ;)

To be honest your going to have to invest lots of money for a weather sealed canon, if you wanted weather sealing at amateaur costs then you should of gone for the D200 by Nikon.

To be fair, a good waterproof rain cover is good enough.

Olympus E-1 and several of the 4/3 range lenses are weather sealed
