Yes
All shot with EOS 50e and Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 - just finished it yesterday and will send off for processing tomorrow. Any idea how long it'll take to get back to me? I'm guessing Dwayne's will take a while as everyone's using up their stock this year.

It's always been digital for me other than a few B&W rolls I self-processed... So this isn't just my first Kodachrome, but my first colour film, my first slide film, and the first film I've sent off for processing :dummy:

I have 3 more rolls of Kodachrome to get through. Is it worth waiting to see how I did with the first, or should I just go ahead and shoot?

Oh and results will be posted as soon as I get them

There's a name from my past - haven't used Kodachrome for nigh on 20 years. Was always a bit of a pain that you had to send it away for processing - my normal lab wouldn't touch it.

Normally, I'd say wait and see how things turn out - but it all depends on how accurate you reckon your metering is to be honest - slide film was always a bit more fussy about correct exposures.

I just wish that we had decent enough weather to make it worthwhile shooting tranny film at the moment.

Now that Kodak have discontinued it, theres only one Lab in the WORLD that'll touch it now :( And they're stopping the processing line by 2011...

To be honest, the only rolls I've got left are process paid to November 2010, but I'm pretty much going to make sure they're on their way to Dwaynes as soon as I've a chance to shoot 'em. As long as your metering is okay, I'd shoot whenever the weather allows it. Get it shot, and make the most of it while we can :'(

I just finished a roll and according to the envelope it goes to Switzerland..

We know the Swiss lab is no longer processing so its gonna have to go to the US from there.
The envelope gives no option for direct mailing to Dwaynes....

b****r..:shake:

yep mine does the same, Apparently they bundle them up at the end of week and sent 'em all off in a single parcel via the kodak internal mail system. Think they come back the same way, not sure if it's to swiss-land or via kodak-uk. Either way, that's going to be a fortnights shipping in itself i'd say :(

Last time I sent some off it took about 2 weeks and they came back mounted and in a little kodak slide box thingy, via Switzerland

It's a lovely film with very distintive reds, a shame it will be gone soon

BTW you have to scan and show everyone when they come back, it's not fair otherwise :D

Still waiting... impatiently

Hope it's not been held up too much by the recent flight ban.

I have another 2 rolls ready to send (from Petri Computor II rangefinder, and Olympus Trip 35) and a third with about 10 frames left (Minolta 7000).

After that, 3 rolls left in the fridge... Doubt I'll find any more

I know where there's another 10 rolls of Kodachrome for sale if anyone is interested.

When your scanning them be mindful that dust/scratch removal won't work as Kodachromes red dye affects the IR beam thats used for it.

I'm sure I read that the target is now for 30days from you sending it to getting it back. On the Film Photography Podcast they also mentioned Dwaynes was ceasing Kodachrome processing in December 2010.

I'm down to my last two rolls of K64. I've got one in the camera and one more to go. A legendary film which I used to shoot almost exclusively in the 80's and 90's. It also scans a dream even in the mounts. Some old shots from the early 90's...

I posted a roll back in September last year, that took about 27 days to get the slides back.

I still have 2 rolls left.

John :)

***Reinforces my argument completely***

It gets better.... there are some links (on a forum about a year ago) to some excellent Kodachrome shots in WW2.

**Ere, this looks awfully familiar

Cornwall ? ***

erm well it's in my west coast of Ireland slide tray (well rocks are rocks), slides are still good after 45years at room temperature, and supposed to last for over 120 years (estimated)

they're for sale on the fadu forum. 10 rolls at 11pounds each.
