Shot in the face while taking photos !

Umm, too much god in there for me. Did she thank god for being shot?
Did the guy who shot her get done for shooting her?
Sounded too much like a religious sermon to me.
Glad she's surviving ***.

i'm not a religious person myself, i just thought it was rather scary that something like this can happen simply by takeing an image!

it could happen to any of us!
 
Pretty horrendous that there are people out there who will do stuff like that. It only takes one crackpot.

well some people beleve in different things, personally if someone did that to me i wouldn't have said words to that effect!

i don't think i can post here what i would have been thinking or what i would have said or done!

The safest place would be to stand right in front of them. The chances are they'd miss you and shoot the person stood next to you.
 
That is a salutory story, but I'm not surprised it happened in America. You hear many stories of the 'shoot first ask questions later' variety.

As a shooter myself, there is absolutely no way that I would loose off a round unless I was 100% certain of what I was aiming out. The gent in that case was either extremely negligent, or he shot the woman deliberately. Either case is extremely worrying.
 
Not a nice thing to happen to the woman but I can easily imagine that this type of accident is possible with the attitude of some American gun owners.

Although I will admit to losing much of the initial sympathy after reading the "praise be" miracles, fair enough she's religious but the sheer one sided quantity here is OTT. If the all mighty is responsible for the good things they have to be responsible for the bad things too (call them trials if you must).
 
Reads like a wind-up.... just can't take all that God-related stuff with any seriousness.... still, a crappy thing to happen to anyone

The shooter said that I looked like a coyote. Strange...the last I checked coyotes didn't lay on their stomachs with a camera in their face, wearing a purple top and a bright yellow back pack on their backs.

He had a scope on the rifle.

Yes, I believe in God. Only around 3% survive being shot in the face, and when I was dying...I felt his presence.

Hang on a minute, that doesn't support your argument....
 
Rob and Whitewash...fine...let someone take a rifle and shoot you in the face, then go through 4 surgeries...be on life support on a breathing machine and all the other gear for 1 week, 3 weeks on a hospital pulmonary ward, then tell me what you define dying as.

Besides...it does support me...look closely...

I can't believe a few people are arguing over the definition of 'dying' - why the sudden pedantry?

I will happily admit Kellys religion is OTT for this agnostic but that doesn't mean you have to be rude before you have established who you are being rude to. :suspect:

im fairly sure everyone is quite sympathetic to what happened to you, it sounds very horrible and not nice and we do have sympathy for that.
