Shortage of sandisk cards?

Following on from this thread
I was "promised" a replacement 9 days ago so I emailed the ( one of 3) UK distributor(s) (Peak) to ask where it was
Here is their reply

Hi Chris
We were out of stock of that particular product but new stock has now arrived and your replacement has been allocated.
This should be dispatched Monday 25th. Sorry for the delay.

Ahh well at least you know it's coming and they are dirt cheap nowadays, I remember spending a weeks wages on a 16k upgrade for my zx80, those were the days.

There's a shortage of MN393s at WE, and I was gonna order one today too

I wonder if this means that Play will be getting some stock back in soon? I'm desperate to get my hands on an additional 4gb extreme III prior to the speedway season starting - been watching their site closely but they've been out of stock for several weeks now. I did buy a 4gb Ultra II as a back up just in case, but to be honest I'd prefer the Extreme for my speedway stuff.

Sandisk are upgrading their cards at the moment thats why the shortage and delays.New chip going in.Most suppliers are getting them 25/26th feb
