It is a bit on the short side, and I would say it should be noted in the description if it only has a few months till expiry. Fresh film typically has a couple of years on it, and I would expect 18 months minimum typically, unless buying something at a discount because of its date.
Might be worth getting in touch - same happened to me once and got a partial refund from a supplier.
Having said that, the film will be absolutely fine even after the expiry date, assuming it has been kept reasonably cool. Even if not, it's probably unlikely to show any issues until well after its expiry date. Film doesn't suddenly go bad, and in fact takes a long time to, especially slow film like Velvia. So the alternative advice is simply not to worry about it.
