Interested to here your recommendations for tog shops in Glasgow or surrounding areas please.

There are not too many mate. Calumet, Jessops and a camera shop just down next to Terry's tattoo place called Merchant City Cameras i think.

Thanks for that. I've been in a few different Jessops, I just wondered if there was anywhere that was particularly recommended.

There is nothing of note Doog. All are overpriced and not really worth a visit.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the guys at calumet. there have been times I've entered there with money burning a hole in my wallet and they have talked me out of buying something!

Stuart

Thanks guys. Calumet seems to be coming through stronger than others.

Merchant City are good for secondhand stuff, the Sauchiehall St Jessops is/was (I haven't been in for a while) the better of the two branches and Calumet win the award for the most soor-faced staff, but are still worth a look, although tend to be more expensive than Jessops...

Walked into Calumet (Glasgow) for the first time two weeks ago for a browse and walked out with a 5Dmkii

Jessops next to Buchanan Galleries is now open again after refurb although guy said their stock is limited compare to other Sauchiehall street store.

The main store up on Sauchiehall St is a shadow of it's former self, it used to have a "pro" department in the basement with lots of lovely (read expensive) gear in it. Unfortunately it wasn't well patronized, so was often unmanned, which was even more unfortunate for Jessops as stuff (so I've been told) had a habit of vanishing out the front door....
