Shooting the dead

Yep - good article that.

Looks as though it could be an interesting program too - I'll certainly try to remember to watch it.

The War graves in Flanders whilst some may think present a sanitised image of those who died it is still no less a very moving experience. I went with my son and my brother to the places where my grandfather fought and was wounded twice, thankfully he survived the conflict, alas many didn't. You cannot help but be overwhelmed by an immense sadness that so many died on both sides, and the anguish felt by all concerned. I've put together a short video as a tribute to those who never returned to their families.

Shame I missed this last night - will have to watch it on catch-up.

My great-grandfather was killed at the Somme (and his 3 brothers were also killed during WW1), but would have no problems with photographs/video if it was his body that was dug up. These people gave their lives fighting for their country and we must never forget that. BY keeping it 'alive' in the media either through print or video will help ensure that our children and grand-children never forget.

The old saying 'a picture paints a 1000 words' has never been more true
