Have been approached by a young lady for some portraits and she is very skinny. Any advice on poses would be appreciated.

I find the thinner the model, the better the variety of poses can be acheived. The world is your oyster :}

Lots of posing guide info on t'internet - just google it

Was hoping to 'talk' to peeps with experience rather than just look at pics on Google to be honest which is what i thought the forum was for?

Define thin...

Healthy young woman who's aware of her body or pale, massively undernourished/ anorexic thin?

Sure she's skinny but I am not too sure she would like the way she is bring referred to? Stating she is anorexic, unless you have anything to base this on seems quite a cruel thing to do as after all it is a medical condition, not a word to bantered about. If she read this how would it make her feel?

Re posing/lighting I personally find I normally go with it on the day, I do have a posing book with tear sheets from magazines I have collected which I use to help models of all sizes but just make them feel comfortable. Use a softer light so bone structure is not as clearly defined if you are worried about it but you may wish to clarify what kind of shots she had in mind!

I never said she WAS anorexic.

Yes, you are probably correct. Many thanks for your input ;-)

all depends on your and her confidence. or you making her confident. size doesn't matter, it's all about personality and making them comfortable.

Broad lighting might help with skinny long faces.
