I have a free day tomorrow, wanted to venture out some where and get some shots. Quite like the idea of doing some landscapes on the 14-24 but being quite new to the area i really have no idea where to start other than jumping in the car and going for a drive....i think its going to be a little wet too.

Anyone able to put some recommendations forward? thanks :)

Oxford's a bit flat :)

You could go straight down the A34 to Didcot/Milton and over to Wantage for the Uffington White Horse. That's about 40 mins away.

Wittenham Clumps is worth a look. That's a real high spot just NE of Didcot.

You can get a good view back to the city centre from South Park or go to Boars Hill (due west) for typical 'dreaming spires' shots.

Lots of picturesue places in the channel south of the M40.
Watlington, Stadhampton, Wheatley kind of area.

Have a little tootle round on streetview to scope them out.

Cheers, i drive down the M40 every day but don't detour a lot, Christmas Common could be a good shout as are yours Kev thanks. Hopefully it won't be lashing it down all day.

If you go down the M40 a lot, there's a small national park on the top of the rocky cut that it goes through on the way to High Wycombe (J5 and 6 I think). I bet that's got some good views on both sides.

yeah i probably see it every day on the way home when i come through the chalk escarpment :D I might hunt for something a little further afield, something i've not seen before!
