Shoot through umbrella recommendations

The Ebay ones are okay if you're going to put them up and leave them, but they don't stand up to much "abuse", personally I use these, essentially just a double-use version of the one in your link and well worth the extra two quid.

Umbrella has arrived - possibly a stupid question but is the only the round end of the shaft (aprrox 1" long) supposed to go through the hole in the holder? The rest of the umbrella shaft is hexagonal and doesn't fit through as it's too wide...

The shaft should slip through the hole quite easily, as the actress said to the bishop...:naughty:

Have you fully extended the shaft of the umbrella?
 
Yep, I think so, round bit goes through no problem but the hexagonal bit doesn't:

Which umbrella adapter did you buy?
 
That's the one I have, it certainly works fine with the hollow-shaft version and the main hex shaft section on your version doesn't look any thicker from that pic....
