Really sorry - not been on here the past few days. No internet connection for 4 days and just catching up. Will catch up with threads and past couple of days tomorrow but here are the iPhone shots for the four days I was away. I was staying at a Pontins, only had the iPhone and spend most of the time dancing so here are just a few shots ... (I have been taking a photo every day, just not able to post them)

Day 32 - Blue sky - leaving a rather wet and grey NI to head over to Liverpool it was lovely to see this blue sky out of the plane window


Day 33 - Breakfast - this was what the OH prepared for me on Sat - a lovely breakfast to start a day of dancing!


Day 34 - Tango - this was a really low light shot with people dancing and really a bit too much for the iPhone, but this was the start of my dancing for the last night - this was about 10:30pm I think - we finished dancing at 6:40am...


Day 35 - Going home - waiting for our train back to the airport on Monday morning - (this was the Southport train going the other way).

Nice to see you back Lynn. Your second shot made me smile and its great to see the sky above the clouds, I always love flying for that reason. You were struggling a bit for the dancing shot, that is a long night dancing through to 6.30am!
 
Good to see you back Lynn and glad you had a great time - love all the shots - Breakfast made me smile :D - and dancing till 6.30am? why not? always the best time to finish :D Im at the All Nighter on Saturday but only from 9pm till 6am :D

Thanks all! I had a great time. I really should have taken some iPhone shots during the 'Swingers Hour' on the Sat - lots of ladies in spinny Vivenne of Holloway dresses, all the double doors open and sun streaming into the blues room (AKA the Queen Vic at Pontins Southport!) - BUT - I was too busy dancing in the sunshine myself to take any photos! (And then we had a workshop to rush off to).

Carol - what to you mean 'only 9pm - 6am'? That's 9 hours! We went for a lovely 3 course Italian meal first, so didn't get dancing til about 10pm so that's about the same. Do you stop to eat in the middle? We take a break for about an hour, usually around 3:30am - get some food, then back to dancing. I find if I don't do that I get too tired.

I've only managed to catch up on a few threads so far as I've few pages to get through on each one. It's really lovely though going through all the other threads - and I know I wouldn't have made the effort to get a photo every day of some sort while I was away if it wasn't for this little community here! :D
 
The last few days

My new model - Snuggles! I'm going to try lighting him a few different ways so to start with I have two shots with ambient - the first with just room light, high ISO, the next day with just window light.

And today's shot - I was given these lovely flowers last night so of course they had to be my shot today!

Love Snuggles and the flowers are such gorgeous colours :)
No we dont have a break at all :lol: We get there just before 9 to get on the stage and get everything ready for them all coming in - and they dont come in as 40 - 50 - 60 year olds should ..... they storm in!!! :lol: Then a few photos from the stage, then a walk around to say hello to everyone that we know (which can be in the hundreds as OH does a Northern Soul Radio Show that they listen to ) and then back to stage. Glenn goes on at 4.30am till 6 so photographing all that time as well running off the stage now and again for a dance .... have to when he puts a song on for me as everyone shouts at me till I go down there :lol:
 
Ah Lynn, I love them! The 2nd one of the bear is my favourite but LOVING the colours in the flowers!
 
Fantastic catch up and so many I really like - plane wing is great and I also love the train shot. Flowers are lovely and light and pastelly and the teddy bear is cuteness personified! :)
 
Oh those flowers. they are gorgeousness!!!.... i love the bears too and adore the pp on the 2nd one

Thanks - I've had him for just over a year and he's actually 'modelled' for me before - I'm going to do a few shots with him in different settings.

That's a long night with no food or snacks! Our all night dancing follows two days of workshops and classes and two other nights of dancing (but only to about 2 or 3am and in fact this time we didn't dance late on the Fri at all which helped a bit) - I used to do it without a break and started to fade about 4:30am - a break helps me keep going and the the DJ who does the 4:30am - end is one of my favs so I want to be up and dancing for most of his set!

More dancing this weekend and photography this time too so I'll have to balance getting the photography done with some dancing with the OH!

Thanks - the first one was intentionally the 'ordinary' one - no interesting lighting or PP. The second one is much more my 'style'.

It was my seat (and I'd already the phone set to flight mode before I turned it off just in case I had a decent view out the window).

Thanks. I couldn't decide between this processing or more punchy and saturated, but decided this sat better as a follow on from yesterday's.

Great last few days Lynn, I prefer the lighting on the first bear, the the 2 flower shots are great especially the second one.
 
beautiful tryptych of the flowers Lynn and have to agree this is the better process for the to keep the lovely pastel colour of them :D
 
Lovely shots from the Iphone - particularly like the Tango one.

The flowers are beautiful as a bouquet, but the tryptych is most excellent :thumbs:

I seem to prefer to soft creamy/pinky tones processing when it suits the subject.

Really sorry I've lagged behind a bit - was away again. This time I had my camera with me. This is another triptych - this is from three of the dance performances on Friday night. I didn't know there were going to be performances and I didn't like to get in the middle of the floor in front of everyone watching so these were shot from the side.

These were - Double Trouble (one lead, two followers), a latin influenced dance and Lindy Hop.

If you have your big camera just barge your way through - people just assume you're there officially half the time :lol:
 
I was there officially but it was a big dance floor & would have meant me being out in the middle of the floor on my own & drawing attention to myself. Which I don't like to do when I have the camera - though I don't mind at all when dancing.

Some great shots Lynn - Love the dancing tryptych and know what you mean about jumping into the middle of the floor to take shots :lol: Much prefer my spot on the stage ;)
