Don't think I would know how to do that! (They are actually shot against the same background, I just changed the settings and added a flash.) The camera wasn't on a tripod so I was just trying to take from approx the same angle.

Just wondering what the scene would have looked like portrait ..so the balloon had somewhere to float to..or more of the string to give a sense of being tethered ...
 
Loving both of the flowers for different reasons..:clap::clap:

The balloons a sweet one too..... great feel to it:D:D

I tried it with different crops (including with the balloon at an angle - but preferred this one as it was the clearest. If I'd used my camera it would have been better. It's on a stick - not a helium one - that would definitely have deflated by now - but still surprised its lasted.

Having a bit of tidy up last night and found an envelope with some gift cards all safely tucked away - and forgotten about! So while I was out today I checked if they had money on them - between them they have £45 worth! So some shopping needed (before I put them away and forget about them again!)

I have never seen a balloon last that long!

I have checked your vouchers and you seem to have avoided HMV and Jessops in there, so happy shopping! :lol:
 
Finally getting round to visiting peoples' threads. Some really lovely pictures in here and some great shots especially with the iPhone (genuinely suprised at the quality that is coming from it, but I suspect a lot of that is the user) My favourite so far is the party lights :)

Thanks. That's a preset I've made myself in LR based on a vintage type one - soft with a bit of creamy pink tones.

Thanks. And yes there are £35 of Next cards and a £10 M&S one. I saw a nice sparkly jumper in Next at £35 so I might just pop in later in the week and get it.

I was walking past an HMV today (after checking the value of the cards in Next) - feel sorry for the staff in both HMV and Jessops. :(

Thanks. Yes I've been pleased with the iPhone - though at times its frustrating to not be able to have much control - but it just makes you find ways to work around that.
 
Day 16 - Anniversary Flowers

It was our anniversary last night from when we started dating. The OH is very romantic (and its more meaningful to us to have a special night now than on Valentines) so I got flowers, chocolates and a lovely candlelit dinner in a local restaurant we really like.

So despite having done some flower shots recently - today's shot had to be of the flowers!



Got a new lens today - 85 f1.8 so it was a perfect opportunity to try it out!
 
More flower shots are always great, especially when they are this great, Lynn! Wonderful colours and the roses are lovely and open - sounds like you had a great evening as well! :)

Absolutely gorgeous shot and how lucky you are to have a man who remembers the date you started dating .... that is romantic :D Glenn remembers as well ...... as long as I prompt him from a couple of weeks before :lol:

Thanks - yes he did actually say 'that can be your photo for tomorrow'! - so he must have had that in mind when he selected them!

Bit of a busy day but I knew I was going to camera club and there would be a model tonight so left my shots til then. Just about made it for the last 30 mins or so - lots of people wanting to shoot with the flash so just used the modelling light to give my new lens another try out.

Anniversary flowers are great, but that shot of Sarah is awesome! Lovely soft light on the right of face. Really nice shot that
