A friend of mine just pointed this one out to me

http://SPAM/26qmmu

See if you can spot it, and how many pics you think went into making it

no i give up?

none of them strike me as obvious photoshop jobbies. Top shot is a good one if its real - no tell tale signs of photoshop.

ive been to the owl place at leeds, the top shot of bird over heads is real, and the girl stroking owl is likely to be real, the area is correct, the owl is correct, lighting behind would give the girl a slight halo

sorry Evilowl, not very helpful here was i!

I thought at first probably the girl and owl shot, but after reading Matty's reply I'm not sure. What do you see Evilowl ?

the girl and the owl and made up of 3 shots...background, girl and owl on glove

Really?

Looks real enough to me... Besides why fake that?

i dont think it is, look at the light source, very strong to the left of the image, the halo in the hair is also at the top of the owls head, but not all round the girl, only on the left

hmmm

how can we prove it?

i know the place very well, i know exactly where the shot was taken, so im fairly confident in that respect

Surely if someone was gonna knock that picture up in Photoshop they would have done something about the kid in blue behind the bird...

if you were gonna shop an image like that you wouldnt have the kid behind the bird and overblown sky, i think its the angle and lighting, it may even have been lightened using shadow/highlight tool, which would explain the lack of catchlight

I dont think thats a photoshopped image at all - I think it might have been taken by the person holding the owl though - hence the slightly odd angle

Wrote to the source here is the reply just received.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the falconry image on our website.

I can confirm that the image is not a fake and was part of a series of images we had commissioned last year.

I hope that settles your disagreement.

End of discussion?

Well no....not really.

All that means is that they commisioned a photographer to take shots for them. The guy who replied prolly doesn't know didly squat about photograpy and as far as he is concerned all the images just came from the pro's camera.
Which in is his eyes makes them not false.

The pro could have pinched images from another site and put them all together to make an image and that guy would'nt know any better.

Doesn't really prove anything.

I may be wrong in the elements I picked out but there is definatly something false about that picture and I can't quite put my finger on it.

I'm gonna say fake.

The light on the owl is to it's left but on the girl it's central.
The colour temp. on the girl is a bit warmer than the rest of the scene.
The person holding the owl and the child in blue are both wrapped up against the weather, the girl isn't.

I think it's only two shots tho, just the girl added.

I would think if someome photoshopped that image they would have improved it somewhat. It's not really a good enough shot to have been photoshopped. It's certainly not "Shockingly bad" I'm afraid to say.
