Shirt lifting?

Yes
So do any gents suffer from the annoying problem of their shirt tails (and side and front) riding up out of their trousers every 8 seconds? I put it down to my cheap sainsburys shirts not having very long "tail" but other shirts are as bad.
I could try doing my belt up tighter but then it makes sitting at a desk uncomfortable. And I think its the sitting down getting up which exacerbates the problem.
So apart from going to the lengths shown below, is there a cure?

What amazes me with that photo is how they can look so serious wearing those :)

And no, sorry can't help you with your shirt lifting problem

ROFL. Someone please tell me that photo is a joke.

Dave

PS Sorry I can't help either.

In the good old days some troosers used to have a rubber elastic 'thread' around the inside of the waist band providing a bit of 'grip' just for such events.
Even further back some of our members may be old enough to remember "Chesters", trousers with a high waistline which basically ended just short of yer man boobs and the problem of "shirtcreep" never arose, however other issues did.
I say bring back tights and doublets, none of this modern namby pamby nonsense ;)

Thought this was a gay thread :(

FTFY

As plainly shown, those shirts don't have tails, and therefore will naturally untuck, although I'd probably prefer to go round with a gap at the back than wear reverse suspenders like that.

Do your shirts have a bit more of you to stretch around?
How did you guess....
I'm tempted by the man suspenders but they are a bit pricey at £28 plus the gripper bit has to hold both my vest and shirt down.

. . . . the gripper bit has to hold both my vest and shirt down.

What about some double sided sticky tape - industrial strength of course - cheap, readilly available, easilly adjustable, just keep it away from the 'short n curlies'

Can't you just do what my FiL did and tuck them into your pants?

Nope, no joke linky

Thanks for the link Keith. I followed this link and then Googled 'S-Holder', and and almost wet myself. However, apparently they have had over 2,000 backers via Kickstarter with over $92,000 pledged!

Apart from what looks to be the potential irritation of wearing this gear I can imagine an embarrassing twanging sound if you stretch too far.

Dave

afp_552404454_82230382.jpg I didn't realise there was more than one issue with shirt lifting.
I thought this was the only shirt lifting issue that was out there :p:D

[look away now if of a sensitive disposition]
I thought of that but worried about getting skidmarks on my shirt then.

May I recommend

Just please ................................................ no selfies if you do :exit:

There's your problem.

Of the supermarkets, the Tesco ones seem to be the longest. Really good vfm and my 2nd fave work shirts, the favourite ones are a lot more expensive though.

Probably because it is their way of life - serial crossdressers ......... :D

This thread needs a NSFM tag. I now need to Google how to unsee things.

Typical that my "is that photoshopped?" head goes on when I see the unreasonably thin thighs in Tim's post. And what the hell is a drop seat back? No. Don't answer that.

When I was in my teens shirts were long enough to tuck right under front and back.
Only french fronts opened right up the front. Collars were held on with studs, and cuffs were double and had to be folded.

Used to have this issue when using TM.Lewin shirts, switched to CT shirts and they seem fine.

Most likely!

Order the CT shirts online?

Nah instore, I work in the city so easier to just pop in. Four for £100 is cheap enough.

The non iron is definitely not non iron though, have six of them and still have to run the iron over them. Easy iron perhaps..

:jawdrop:

As opposed to my Sainsbury £12 (in the sale) jobs, :ROFLMAO::sorry:

Having worn shirts to work for 12 years I quickly came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for.

I started off with cheapo primark jobbies which lasted a few months, then onto topman which lasted maybe a year.

The CT ones last me 2-3 years before replacing them.

Depends on the industry you work in really.

I am a firm believer in dressing well makes you feel better for work :).

CT is good at the price point, and offer several fittings and sleeve lengths in each collar size, but their slim and extra slim fittings are slightly shorter than the classic fit. The details and how to take your own measurements are on their website. You can customise the shirts (add a pocket, a monogram and alter sleeve length etc) too.
