Big, very characterful boat there.

Wonder if there was a better perspective there. The boat creeping in at the bottom draws my eye a little.

I like just about everything about the coast :)

Thought better have a go at getting rid of the top of that boat so I cropped it a bit and air brushed the bit of the mast.

Nice watch Shirley. Is it one of those with a winding wheel at the side? Maybe worth giving it a little more space so it's sides are not clipped.

Looks better with more space as Carl suggested and I like the square crop but just to nit-pick it would be even better the right way up (y)
 
I didn't realise it was upside down, it looks a bit poor without the winder but its a nice watch, Pia.

Hi, Shirley, an interesting watch has an austere Soviet feel to it.

If I'm honest, and with it being week 40, we need more crit, it doesn't really grab me. Maybe some better lighting and Slightly better symmetry would improve it.

Hope you take my comments in the spirit they are meant :thumbs:

Hi Shirley - that is a nice looking watch even without the winder :) It's much better with more space, but I do have to agree with Andy about the lighting. If I'm photographing small objects like this I sometimes try doing it by a window on a cloudy day, maybe using a thin piece of white fabric (a shirt can work a treat) to diffuse the light a little and stop harsh highlights and shadows. I've so much to learn about lighting but it's a small tip I picked up on here a while ago :)

Big - I'm happier with the revised crop. Cropping off the bottom of the boat doesn't worry me, I think because it's in shadow anyway.
After - Got the clock in there then :)
Definitely better the right way up, I actually prefer the first of the 3 images, in-fact a tighter more severe crop might give it more ompfh.

Has that kind of grainy soft feel that we all associate with UFO/alien pictures, good photo for the theme
