wonder if any one can help here i am looking to find out when the boat's/ ships will be sailing down the river humber

is there a tracking service or is it all closed off i live 2 mins from the main estuary and there is some great shot's to be taken im hoping lol

but everytime i go there either not there ie low tide or nothing comes by at all can anyone help

Ships will usually arrive / depart on a flood tide i.e. when the tide is still rising but far enough on it's way to ensure them a good draft if the port is tidal. If it's a deepwater port then it could be any time. Phone the harbour office and ask, they will probably be happy to give you some guidance and if not, the worst they can do is say no.

Ooh! nice link :)

If you can, I have a mate who's a harbour pilot, he probably has these anyway but I'll pass them on.

Many newsagents keep local tidetables and yacht chandlers all do as well. Tackle/bait shops for anglers will stock the tables too and may have a blackboard outside with the tide times posted.

Let me know how you get on, looking forward to seeing some shots, been up the humber a few times and looked like a great location for sunrise/sunset :-)
