HaHa ... bubble ... dodgy backdrop makes me laugh.

re close second pic especially ... I like to see the detail of that quality equipment (y)

Excellent idea - I like the colour of the background - suits the rustic look - but those creases

Ok, ok I get it, check the background for defects.

Seriously, in the last two weeks subjects I have had details brought to my attention that I didn't consider noteworthy but obviously stand out to others. These, and others yet to be discovered, are points that must be considered if one hoped to make an impression on the photographic world.

Can't do a reshoot though as the potatoes in the picture?...went well as chips with the swordfish we had for tea.

Hi, I really like that great idea would never have thought of it, perfect props, BG is a little creased but nothing off putting
just needs a little more light I feel
:clap:for having a great original idea

Ah, but you are from the West Midlands so you don't count. :D

Hi Martin

yum yum......now you've got me wanting bubble & squeak for tea  Focus looks good as does the lighting.....the niggle is the bg , color is ok as I think flat black would spoil it but you really need to get a woman to iron it.....:runaway:

Lynne, I've amended your post :p :D

Interesting take on the theme Martin, bg certainly needs some work :D

Your 'close' was an excellent image, it can be hard to follow up sometimes. Similar was mentioned to me last week,:)

I like it Martin....really like the idea.....For me this has the slight hint of one of those Dutch Master Still life paintings...Perhaps a darker background and lighting only the subject with a warm light would add to this effect.

A very different direction for the theme, which is good! I like the composition and lighting, but as already been said the background is distracting and keeps drawing me away from the image. Nice choice of colour for the background though (y)

Great take on the theme would never have thought of that.

Bubble - A unique take on the theme. However the compositon is not quite right and the crease in the background is distracting.

hhmm....smoke man looks like his having fun :) lighting on his face is absolutely spot on and the light on the smoke good too.....Really impressed with the composition and overall balance of dark and light areas on this...B&W suits perfectly (y)

Good idea, lighting (y), possibly a little too much smoke to the right of the smokeman, 'less is more' might have worked well here :)

Hi ya

Yup , liking the mono & the smoke coming from is mouth (y)

as Phil mentioned...maybe slightly less smoke to the rhs of the frame ?

Looking good, nice lighting on the figure and almost ghostlike effect of the smoke

Only a joss stick so he wasn't enjoying it as much as he might :D.

Lovely lighting on smoke man, really good composition, looks like a fun image to take well done.

It was my fourth attempt of six so I'm quite pleased.

Good work SSU. Love it!!

Thanks for that

Kind of cool (y) Love the from underneath lighting.

The light was provided by some blue aquarium LEDs.

Cool, kinda weird - I like it though! (y)

Thanks Bobby, wouldn't like to meet him on a dark night, oh wait, I did! :)

A slight CCW rotation needed but I like the image. The blur of smoke gives it a nice sense of motion.

Yes the CCW adjustment is correct, it's not quite vertical However I can only find out how to rotate by full 90 degrees on Lightroom as it's new to me, I expect it's in there somewhere.

Good idea, lighting (y), possibly a little too much smoke to the right of the smokeman, 'less is more' might have worked well here :)

Nope, in this case I can't agree, I like the smoke mass, but each to their own and your remarks are welcome. :)

Really good take on the theme Martin... nice shot...

nicely done looks good

Thanks very much.

A great idea makes very effective composition .

I try to keep things original.

The original blue lighting was almost as good but the B&W takes it in this case.

First time I've used multi-quoting and probably won't do it again for every comment. I can imagine a post can get very long!

Unusual shot, but it works for me. I like the lighting on the figure of the smoke man.

Mineral
by gorgon703, on Flickr

This was difficult. I didn't want to photograph a pile of rocks, Mandy had already done the mineral water thing, so all that's left (so far) is a list of minerals; a bit naff really but I'll have a think during the week.
