BE bothered with a wet shave !!

I've seen the ads for Braun shavers on the telly ! If I were looking for one, I'd get one of those !

it cost a futune 10 quid for 4 blades i think is daylight robbery lol

Only if you get the latest fangled million bladed ones.

I use a simple Sensor Excel. Blades are cheap and its the closest shave I ever had.

i think the brauns and other electric shavers are ridiculously expensive though. Just got the wilkinson sword with the electrip trimmer on the other side and its awesome. Much better than my gillette fusion with the crappy single blade on the other side...

well ive got a phillishave but i hate it it dries my skin out and it doesnt even shave very well. Wet shave is the only way :D

thats the prob with my philshave i bought i as i shave my head with it....

after my chemo my hair was like babys hair and hardly grew hence why i bic it

The trick is to use a good foam/gel. and always moisturise !!!!!!!

the gillette fusion gel is good, but im still struggling to find a decent moisturiser...

Grow a beard?

Saves time, saves money, keeps the face warm in winter, scares children, stores little bits of food for later...

i cant!!!i want to, i dont know if its cos im just 21 or i just dont have the right growth pattern

A grade 1 about once a week :D.... Haven't had a proper shave for 18 months now... My wife seems to like it, maybe it's cos it makes me look older .... (it's going white)...

oh no, im sorry to hear it :p

I'm the opposite to most people, in that I get a better shave from my philishave than a wet shave. I've tried various razors, and am currently using the powered fusion one, with fusion gel, nd mosituriser (all came in a gift pack). However, it never gives me a very close shave, and I usually have to use the philishave after!! I only wet shave, as I don't tend to shave on Friday (casual day at work) and the weekend. The philishave struggles a bit when there is a few day's growth.

what model phil shave is it

It's not one of the current generation. It's a 6890. Something like £140 worth!! Agree with a previous post, they are expensive!! TBH, it's not as good as the Philishave I had before that, but it gets the job done.

so I guess nobody likes the Braun then ????

Hmm, I was thinking about getting a Braun Series 5. I know they're not cheap, but if they're worth it might as way pay the premium. Got an old Philishave as well. Does the job but I really got to spend time pressing it into my skin if I want a good shave.

Speaking as someone who used to sell them for a living, you never get a decent shave from an electric shaver regardless of the make. The best you can hope for is an 'adequate' shave.

I have a two blade philips that I keep for those late getting up emergencies but normally wetshave. I get my razors from Lidl, 1 razor and 20 'twin' blades for £2.99
I heard some guy on the radio a couple of months back plugging his new 'revolutionary' 4 blade razor with blades much cheaper than the big two sell so I bought one. It's no better than the Lidl ones I usually use.

I always wet shave now, but the guys i work with have philishaves, the one's with the little Nivea sachets you put in them to moisturise.

But they are to dear ,so they get a bottle of Nivea from Wilkies £3.70 I think
and just put a few drops on the head of the shaver ,as they shave.

Saves dry skin and red face syndrome

I can't leccy shave, it just won't work for me.....

I use a decent wet razor and use a combination of gel and "Somersets" shaving oil, the best thing to ever happen to shaving. Only available from Sainsbury's at the moment.

I then use a decent moisturiser. My beard can be rather tough though....

I use an electric wet shaver, absolutely brilliant, I use it in the shower with soap and then give my face a second going over with four bursts of the nivea moisturising cream

This is my baby! A lot cheaper than when I bought mine.

I treated the OH to one of those Phillips Arcitec electric razors last year, from shavers.co.uk [who were about £40 cheaper than anywhere else at the time], and he loves it to bits, says its the best razor he has ever had. They are bloody expensive though.

Electric razor bad, wet shave good.

A mid range disposable razor and a good soap or cream. None of the mass market foams or gels are terribly good.
If you use a “proper” cream from Crabtree and Evelyn, the Gentleman’s shop or similar with brush you will get a good shave. Well worth the effort.
These creams last a long time compared to aerosol foams etc and blade also last longer.

Strange as may sound £15 or so spent on a shaving lesson is money well spent.

ive got a philishave, i hardly use it as its absolute *****, doesnt shave anything off my face, it never was particularly good in the first place but now the blades are blunt its a waste of electricity to charge it!.

i just use a gelette machthreemilliontwelvehundredandone and it does an ok job although the blades are pricey they last me a month or so. still iritates my skin do death though
