Just wondering what sharpening you do before printing? Do you even bother?

Cheers.

Pretty much all digital images need some sharpening, even if it only to replace the sharpness lost by the anti alias filter on the sensor, as a rough rule sharpening for print can be more aggressive than sharpening for screen.
That said the exact amount will vary hugely with subject and size etc.

I always sharpen before printing, as I believe it is necessary, but unless it's for a particularly special print I usually let Lightroom do it for me using the "sharpen for print" option. That's one reason I got LR, to reduce the time it takes to produce my photos, and I find it does a reasonably good job most of the time (for me anyway), so I don't faff about trying different settings.

I add a little "capture sharpening" to all my shots in Adobe Raw and only add any serious sharpening at the output stage. I use "Photokit sharpener" which has loads of presets depending upon output type (print, web etc), print size/print finish (matt or gloss) etc etc - excellent plug-in
