Shot in the dark question:

A few months ago I found a great article on the web about raw sharpening. It's a subject I find tricky but this article made it all click. Unfortunately I've lost the address!

I'd really appreciate any pointers to relevant articles. I may not find the original but be good to find a substitute :-)

It was quite technical, explaining sharpening from first principles and building up to an approach to setting parameters.

Any ideas gratefully accepted! At least we could end up with a useful list of sharpening references...

Thanks for posting that link - never really understood the principles involved (still don't) but that article looks very interesting and should help me understand - good find :cool:

It's a good article for the final output sharpening but I think it's a little out of date now as I don't think it includes any information relating to "Capture sharpening" which is recommended for RAW images and carried out in ACR

Can't help you with the sharpening cos it's all fairly new to me but thanks for that article it's fantastic :-)

Glad some of you found that article as useful as I did.

Simon, thanks for the referral. Haven't finished the video but it looks really useful. Have been wondering about sharpening in camera raw vs PhotoShop since reading Real World Camera Raw recently (highly recommended for beginners like me BTW).

I love photography but really struggle with PP so all help is greatly appreciated :thumbs:.
