Sharpen/unsharp mask

I'm puzzled,what is the difference between sharpen and unsharp mask?

I think, and i stress, think, that unsharp mask you can control more and with sharpen its just the bulk standard sharpen function.

Sharpen was the first tool that Photoshop had, an improvement was Unsharp Mask which allowed slightly more control. Currently "Smart sharpen" is the tool of choice as many tutorials now advocate - e.g. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/smart_sharp.shtml

Yep, Canon's own supplied software Zoombrowser EX

yeah, i have it too, but never really used it. It has unsharp mask?

unsharp mask basically uses a softened version of the image as a mask to the original, thereby cancelling out the blurriness to some extent. Worth a search on Wikipedia on the subject

threshold 0
amount goes as "mad" as you want you will se a difference in the image
edit to slow glad your sorted
