Hi,

I upload and share photographs I take around Gloucestershire to this Group:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/soglos/

and then they would be shared by SoGlos on their website on pages such as this:
http://www.soglos.com/28252/Gloucestershire-photo-gallery-May-2008

They now say they cannot do this any longer, their exact response is:

We were gutted to stop it but it was the direct result of Flickr changing their image control / copyright so we could no longer ‘copy and paste’ contributors entries into a gallery to be showcased onto SoGlos.

It would have sadly meant chasing 30 individual contributors each month instead of them simply having to contribute to the pool, which sadly just wasn’t feasible given the small nature of the team here.

We’d love to showcase locals’ Gloucestershire photos again though, so if you have any ideas on how we could do this through Flickr we’d love to hear them.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Regards

No, but I am frankly glad they are putting a stop to some questionable practices. SOGLOS is a magazine and should really use other means to get the images. So that would mean contact, license, and pay.

Not sure why it's questionable....those that joined the flickr group knew the rules:
please only join the group if you are happy for your shots to be published on SoGlos.com

and I imagine most that did join were happy to promote the county they live in !

We use a plug-in for our wordpress community site which is very similar to what you've described Jeff.
