Hi all, I'm new to this and recently started out in photography. I can't seem to stop shadows happening in my photos on the background. I was using a speedlite (portraits) so decided I needed a light also to stop this but I'm still getting them. I made a mistake and bought continuos lights instead if flash but they will have to do until I save for flash ones (they r soft box) any advice on how to stop this would b very much apprixiated thanks x

Move the object further away from the background.

The continuous light on the background will do little or nothing unless you use a very slow shutter speed, it just doesn't have enough power.

Moving the subject from the background is one way of doing it. Another way is to get your light high, and directly in front of the subject. This will put the shadow low, and probably hidden behind the subject.

Thanks guys! I can only move the kids so far forward due to the size of the flooring I have (tried it) but will try moving lights high and infront (so far I have tried moving them along the sides and hight wise) thanks again :)
