I posted this image in the people section and some one pointed out the shadow under Dads nose, which I expected really but I still like the photo. I have replied back in the thread giving the lighting info and asked how I could have lessened the shadow.
Hope you don't mind but I linked to it here as I am thinking I may get more responses as the question is now about lighting.

Think about your angles. You're never going to be able to use clamshell lighting if he's looking straight ahead as there's nowhere for the reflection to go. Just angle him slightly one way and have the clamshell slightly off to the other side. So it's a broad lit clamshell.

Bloody hell. I never would have thought of that thank you so much.I thought clam shell was just top and bottom straight on. I see what you mean tough. I will try again and see what happens.
