Severn Bore's 52 for 2016

Hi Andrew.
Not sure I see Alien in the shot, it puts me more in mind of a (flying) pig. Well spotted and captured though :)
Liquid - You're braver than me setting up a shot rather than just looking for something in the wild. Very interesting image, water in 2 states.

Some terrific shots in that catch-up Andrew, Spooky tops the lot for me (although not spooky to me but very scenic). Posing magpie comes a close second.

Nice catch up Andrew, love the Turtle / Tortoise :)
That snow isn't recent, surely?

Really like the woodland shot ... with or without the spooky face.

And great detail in that magpie shot. (y)

Now that's what I call a political statement Andrew. Trump is certainly flushed with success ... or will be shortly. Great visual play.

as political statements go, that says a lot. :naughty:

well thought out and put together.

Hi Andrew,
Grats on the catch up.
Cracked - Well, I'm not sure what's emerging, but certainly on theme and well captured (y)
Spooky - Nicely taken shot, not sure it sells spooky though, more "A Winter's Tail" (Sorry, that's the name of a beer we had last night).
Young - Far too many, far too young.
Pose - Not sure you need the whole image of the Parakeet, the top 2/3rds, in a square crop works better imo. The magpie however works well in that format.
News - Loving the concept of using the Daily Wail as loo roll, though to be fair, I don't think I'd want it (or him) that close to me ;)
Spot on theme. :)

Glad you like the News shot. Found it difficult to handle the Daily M**l - had to get a copy from a friend! Now awaiting a call from the CIA!

Great idea for news, you've handled the Daily Mail very well :)

Hi Andrew

Spooky is a stunner although not really spooky to me I can imagine that beginning used in a feature or on the wall.

News now that made me smile great take on the theme.

Nicely done Andrew. I like those wonderfully colourful reflections in Arranged - they create quite a visual impact. Cultural is more absorbing as it invites the eye to roam around taking in all the detail.

Arranged works well, brilliant colours and reflections, but I would have preferred the bottom shelf not to be cut off.
Culture is a great photo, B&W conversion works well on it and gives it an old feel. Pity about the ID on the apron :)

Hi Andrew,
Arranged is nice and bright, and on theme, but of the two shots, I prefer your cultural image.
Whilst I feel it could do with a stronger black point, it portrays a story well.

You can't beat a bit of Sax in the afternoon Andrew

Although my preference would be to crop out the shopping trolley(?) to the left, to the 1st post.
So the bollards lead you up the high street.
As I said just my opinion :)

Great photo, strong lines, good B&W conversion. I don't mind the thing that's left of the first post, but with the person standing behind the saxophone player you might think he has a hump. Maybe you should have waited a few seconds for the background to be cleared...

Overall, a nice image, but I think its spoiled by the couple immediatly behind the Sax player. The other two characrtes add interest, but her white coat behind the sax is distracting.....

A decent bit of street there.
I have to agree with the comments about the couple behind him, but actually, the thing I feel doesn't work in the shot is the line of bollards. Because they are a strong black, they attract attention and then lead your eye away from the Sax player.
I imagine a better composition (if it was possible) would have been to have the Sax Player in the top right third, with the line of bollards leading you to him from bottom left. (If it were possible).

Lovely bit of street photography Andrew - excellent details and composition.

Hi All
Much appreciate the comments about the sax player. I agree with the compositional remarks. My excuse is that I am not entirely comfortable when I take candids and do not always give time to looking at the overall layout. Not really a good excuse for a photographer!
