Severn Bore's 52 for 2016

Hi Andrew. I like the door ... the workmanship, ironmongery and texture of the wood make a very artful piece. Excellent for Ancient.

wow what a door, priceless.

framing is good but leaves it a bit tight at the bottom.

Hi Andrew. Clearly more respectful of people's privacy than I am .. perhaps I should have pixelated the bus stop shot too - not sure what the rules are. Yours is nicely taken with the oof railings and that wonderful bit of graffiti - the talons seem to be in the process of snatching away their burgers.

Thanks Carl. My understanding is that photographing people in public places is permitted. However, as these chaps were eating and one of them did not look entirely happy about being photographed I thought discretion might be the order of the day!

Ah I see - thanks for that Andrew.

Hi Andrew, probably a good idea in this case to pixellate, I'm not really sure if there's any particular protocol for street photography, there's certainly plenty of it around. I like the composition through the fence but that graffiti looks amazing, in a way it would be nice to see more of it.

I love street and I think 90% of the time people -me include- look better than when they are aware of the camera. However I always like to stick to touristy areas where there are others with cameras.

Nice one for the theme. (y)

That's brilliant Andrew, particularly #1 with the facial expressions and movement of the water against the second surfer. Bravo.

Hi Andrew.
B&W - The zebra's certainly pop from the image GJ.
Ancient - Good spot, but the OCD in me had me checking for verticals / horizontals. I know it's taken on the slant, and that maybe in those days nothing ever was 100% straight, but I's have cropped / adjusted it so at least one of the lines was on the vertical or horizontal.
Urban - As others have said, a great piece of graffiti and well composed through the railings. I wouldn't have bothered pixellating them out, it's not like they are ever likely to find the image. You could always have waved to them and said something about taking the shots of the graffiti, they could then have moved if they really cared
Pair - Both shots are great, nicely captured, plenty of detail, and together they tell a story. Perhaps it would have worked well as a story board too?

Ha I think we see The Severn Bore !!!

nicely done.

Great photo #1 for pair, love the expression on their faces.

Hi Andrew

Love your image of the Stripy Horse for Black and White

Lovely details and textures in Ancient

I really like your image for Urban

Great action shot for Pair I really like

Very nice Andrew it's certainly a big structure I like the buildings in the foreground they give a nice of size

That is a big bell tower, and an even bigger scaffolding. Well spotted!

Strangely that scaffolding looks an amazing piece of abstract art. Going up that ladder right the very top would have me quaking though. Nicely spotted and well themed.

Thanks for comments. From a distance the scaffolding makes the spire look like a pagoda!:)

Lovely shot Andrew. Excellent DoF makes the detail stand out against the bg - well composed too.

I agree with Carl, really sharp subject against a good OOF background

Hi Andrew,
Big - Interesting find there, it's certainly on theme.
The image is a bit on the subdued side for me, I would have played with black and white points to give it more contrast (if the file allowed it).
After - Nicely captured detail in the remains of the dandelion (?)

Great composition, vibrant colours and good DoF. Nice detail in the seeds, unfortunately the ones on the bottom right seem to be very slightly out of focus.

Hi Andrew

Very nice capture great use of DoF to make the Dandelion stand out.

Maybe the BG greens could be muted down a little

Has the look of an Alien with horns and the hollow for an eye. Well spotted Andrew - lovely details.

Great find, but it looks more like a horse to me :)

That's quite an intriguing image Andrew. Is it the effects from dropping water? Looks good actually with the swirls of steam(?).

That looks great, very mysterious, almost alien... It's not maybe not as sharp as you would have wanted, but it's a very interesting photo!

Very interesting, and on theme. I dlove to se some shots of you created the image.
