Severn Bore's 52 for 2016

That's a wonderful photo Andrew - the vibrancy against that plain black bg makes for a very striking image.

I really do like the photos with a dark background, this works well for me Andrew, loads of detail in the flower petals

Flora, nice and sharp, plenty of detail too Andrew :)

Really like that Andrew someone need to tell them the trailer is full!

Activity, very topical Andrew.

Hi All
Thanks for the comments on "Activity". Fortunately the overspill was spotted as I took my phot. Another second or so and I would have missed it. It was amazing how quickly each trailer was filled. Bit quicker than cutting the hay with scythes!

Hi Andrew,
Flora - Nicely detailed shot there, works well against teh black background.
Activity - The detail when you zoom in on the shoot is very very good :) I was pondering if the crop was too central but on reflection no, it works well.

Great shot for "activity", well spotted and excellent timing!

sign - good cloud details
flora - fantastic detail and sharp image, I love the colours
Activity - great action shot

Yes, lovely macro Andrew. Excellent shot for Life ... and Activity too.

As has been said, two in one there with activity as well as life.

Having just bought some extention tubes, macro is far harder than I imagined so well done for getting the shot alone. Great detail with the pollen all over the bee and I like the red and yellow contrasting with the green background.

Definitely prefer the second of the two Hidden shots. Love the warmth of it and the lack of colour in comparison to the first ties in with the theme better. Nice shot.

Definitely the sepia version Andrew. Really is well Hidden ... and forgotten, so spot on for the theme.

Life - great detail I like the pollen dust on the bee.
Hidden - well spotted I too like the sepia version best

Hi Andrew ...super photo of the bee ....I love seeing them covered in pollen like that.

I think it's the sepia one for me too ...although I do keep flicking between the two as I do like them both, I love the location, what a great find in that Hidden gate ...absolutely perfect for the theme.

"life" - some great details on bee and pollen dust, and nice sharpness
"hidden" - I prefer the colour version. Well spotted and bang on theme.

Hi All
Many thanks - as always - for the comments. Interesting to read the different views on "Hidden" This was a chance find (!!!!) while walking the dog the other day. I think I am with the Sepia supporters as the colour version tends to disguie the gate too much due to the green algae on it. And Nigel; I disagree! I have been unsuccessfully trying to get a bee in flight shot like years for ever - and still no success!
:(

Good work Andrew,

I really like the life/bee shot. Obviously high ISO, and it works ... a nice prompt to how we should be pushing extremes.

Great find Andrew I prefer the Mono version it has an almost Infrared feel to it

Works well Andrew - like the movement in the leaves and the lovely light from the rhs.
