Severn Bore's 52 for 2016

Andrew, popping colours well spotted bang on the theme.

miniature - fun picture, I don't mind the post it helps show scale

Well that would certainly help bring happiness. Like the DoF with the fg and feller sharp relief and graduating to softness towards the rear of the image.

nice one - that would work for miniature and happy :)
the only thing I think I'd tweak is the white balance....its all a bit yellow to my eye, but maybe that is what you were going for?

Hahah, I like the thought behind that shot.
I think I may have added an adjustment layer, masked out everything bar the LEP operative and then increased vibrancy / saturation to make him pop a little more.
But that's just me, and it may have ruined it...

Miniature - That looks like it was a fun image to take, nice colours. My only niggle is I am not to keen on the post, but I guess there was not much you could do about it.

Happy - lovely shot, and works nicely for the theme.

Andrew, superb thought for the Happy image, Like the angle you have taken it at

Happy - Nice shot I like the thinking behind it. Nice DOF and colours

You must be very happy to have found the leprechaun and his stash of gold
great pic it made me smile.

That's super, imposing buildings in a state of decay. It's a nice sharp contrasty shot which looks great in B&W. I wish the FOR SALE sign wasn't there but that's Peter White's fault, not yours. I think it was worth including the left hand most building despite that as the contrasting finish on the walls adds to the interest.

Nice tones there Andrew

I really like this and I think the FOR SALE signs adds to it. Of course it would be lovely if the sign was old and abandoned too but you can't have everything. Good shot and nice processing

Hi All
Thanks for the interesting and helpful comments on my "Abandoned" submission. Always much appreciated. I had toyed with the idea of cropping out the For Sale sign, but felt it added to the rather forlorn nature of the building. :ty:

Abandoned - spot on. I like the darkening sky towards the top. Some of the white areas look a touch pushed, but overall the tone works well. Well spotted and well captured. As Colm says, the For Sale sign just adds to it!

Abandoned... reminisce of Industrial Revolution great find nice B/W textures (y)

Super photo Andre, liking the contrast and light you have manage to capture.

Abandoned - Really like this lovely tones that give a real feeling of grit too the image. Really suits the theme

That is some location - well chosen Andrew. Love the b&w tones - gives it a very dramatic feel.

Great shot and I like the inclusion of the For Sale sign, I think it adds to the Abandoned feel. Really weird, but when I first saw this shot I felt like I knew the building, but as I've never (to my knowledge!) been to Bristol I can't do - creepy

Tim aka LC2 expressed interest in the location of my "Abandoned" photo. It was taken at Bakers Quay, Gloucester Docks, which was a thriving inland port from the mid 19th to mid 20th century. The area has been slowly redeveloped during the past 20-30 years, not always as sympathetical as might have been in my view. Bakers Quay is one of the remaining original areas awaiting rejuvenation and has, sadly, been subject to a great deal of neglect and vandalism, including a major act of alleged arson last Autumn that might have destoryed the hope of restoring a significant Victorian Warehouse. I have added a number of extra photos of the location to my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/severnbore/

Derelict.
Blimey, I haven't seen such a large abandoned group of buildings for a long time.
Certainly has a desolate feel about it.
Well seen Andrew.

Thanks for comments on the abandoned buildings. Sad to see the dereliction in my historic own city!
Camouflage: First - not altogether successful - attempt with the displacement filter in Photoshop.
