Yes
I've just bought a basic home flash studio set up (interfit ex150).

Is the best way to set aperture and shutter speed by using a light meter, or is there a better way?

Dave

The shutter speed is almost irrelevant when using studio flash under normal circumstances. Set it to 1/60th or thereabouts.
A flash meter will indicate the correct aperture. Some people think it's OK to to guess the aperture or read a histogram, but a meter is much quicker and more accurate.

Thanks for those links. Very useful.
