I am a long time Dslr user. I picked up a Fuji xt-30 last year to try out mirrorless. The other day I was using both and noticed that when I wasn’t using the Fuji for a while it would power down and then it would take a while to power on when I tapped the shutter button. My Canon 77D in contrast is super fast. Is there a setting to speed up the power on ?

Disable stand by mode, increase the time out, or tap the shutter half way periodically to keep it awake.

Not had experience with this Fuji, but it's what I've done with other cameras - like Sony RX1R

I put it on 5mins and switched something called “boost” on.

I'm not sure it's a mirrorless issue as such, my A7iii is very light on batteries in fact I only need one.
That's because it's higher capacity than earlier models I guess,
But it would be all but impossible to flatten it in a whole day taking stills - continuous video recording would be another matter
