I am bit confused about the background light setting when taking snaps. Please let me know how to adjust the backlit and what are the thing to keep in mind as part of lights to capture Good pictures.

we don't use multiple light setups for 'snaps'.
But as always any talk of settings is meaningless - the right amount of light on a background can be anything from complete black to complete white - depends what you want to achieve.

Are you taking this with your phone? the coolpix with a lens attached or the Canon SLR?

And is it for one of your professional clients or are you still learning to take snaps with your iphone and arms outstretched?

Hello Phil,

Which camera to use differs from situation and place. Not everytime the phone camera but some time I do use smartphone camera to capture images. But I get confuse about backlits many times while taking shots.

Can you show us some examples and tell us what you were trying to achieve?

I'm sure we can give specific pointers.

What is the question you're tying to ask here - what settings to use, to expose properly in a backlit scene?

As above, it would be useful to share an image that has not been very successful.
