This has been an itch for a couple of years now. I'm fascinated by the idea of total control over each exposure through the whole process.

I'm currently selling a lot of surplus to requirements gear with a view to buying a LF camera and associated gear.

But where to start?

I think perhaps I need a good book or website on the subject before going any further.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Ansel Adams - The Camera and The Negative

My first choice of book is Steve Simmons' Using the View Camera; according to the ViewCamera magazine site it's out of print but going to be available as an ebook. According to Amazon, you can still buy it for far, far more than I paid. There is a getting started pdf on the site. There are of course forums devoted to LF photography (apart from TalkPhotography :D).

Thanks Stephen. That pdf has answered a couple of questions straight away.

but the cameras havnt changed at all so i would, and do, still consider Ansel's books as the go to Bibles for large format.
