Serial number - HELP.

Not 100% sure on the BG-E3 but on the BG-E1 it's on the top face, which means you need to take it off the camera to see it, it;s on a small plate near the fixing screw.

Does seem strange that Canon don't appear to have bothered with serial numbers on their grips - at least not with any consistancy. I've got a BG-E3, BG-E2N and a BG-E4 and the only one of those that has any numbering on it other than the model number is the BG-E2N.

The serial no for the BG-E2 is engraved on the bottom, at the edge of the ribbed plastic.

Very hit n miss whether its actually on the grip anywhere - i've seen some with but most without it - it is featured on the box and international warranty card though

I thought that until I realised that the all numbers on the boxes of both my BG-E3 grips are identical. Also neither of the International Warranty cards have anything in the Ser No. box. Further, the numbers stamped in the base of my BG-E2N grip bear no resemblance to any of the numbers on the box and again the International Warranty card has nothing printed in the Ser No. box. Likewise my 5D grip

BG-E4, not non number non where, only one I can find is on the original box.
Jim
