Sent off my bank transfer request

The battery grip from digi rev is now in the midlands somewhere. The camera and lenses from panamoz are somewhere between Dubai and wherever they're going :D

You need the flight number and flight checker app for your smartphone to track flight

Still says "by end of day" for delivery. Was kind of hoping it'd be there by now, after leaving at 4:29am. Mild panic may be on the cards if it hasn't arrived by 2:30 :D

Don't panic, I'm sure he will be there by 3:30 :p

So far it all seems undamaged, which is nice. However the main problem I have is they've sent the wrong battery for the camera. Instead of receiving a spare LP-E6 that I ordered I seem to have an LP-E8. That's disappointing, but worse could have happened.

I'll PM Tina my details now :)

All sorted with Tina now. Will be arranging to send off the incorrect battery, and they'll send me another LP-E6.

Wish my battery would hurry up and charge. I don't want to take my 60D out of the bag :D

Battery isn't charged yet. 3 fast flashes, so not long to go. I could take the batteries out of the 60D but I don't want to open that bag :D

It is, just now actually. I've had a quick play and my god this camera is leagues above the 60D. There are no words to compare the quality difference and feel. It makes my bedroom look nice, so it's clearly voodoo magic at work :D

Have you only got the 2 primes with it, or have you also got a general walkabout zoom as well?

My lens collection is:

Sigma12-24, 35L, Sigma50 1.4, 85L, 100L, 70-200 F4L. I wanted the 24-70 with the 5dmk3 but the price went up overnight by £500 so I went with the two primes instead. I've always used a 50mm as a walkaround lens on my crop cameras (for about 7 years) and it suits my eye perfectly. Now on FF though, it may be the 85mm, but as the 35mm is exceptionally nice I think it may be that. I've got some wandering around planned at the weekend, so I'll see what I prefer.

Be interesting to hear and see how you get on with that 85L. I've been using a Tamron 17-50 on crop, but more recently been using my nifty-fifty more & more, so was thinking about going for a 5DIII + 85L and either the 24-105 or 70-200 f4...decisions, decisions

The 85L is slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow to focus. And I mean ridiculously slow. My sigma 50 1.4 focuses lightning fast. The 85L is 1-2 seconds to focus. You really don't realise how slow it is until you're using it for the same sort of images you took before.

Still, it's very nice so far. I took it all to work with me with the idea of taking some photos after work, but sods law, it started raining about 2 minutes before I finished and hasn't stopped! In fact it just started thundering :o

Yeah, I heard the AF was slow, but the shots you finally get are out of this world. Might have to reconsider and throw the 85 1.8 back in the mix...

Worst is HSBC, stupid little delicate thing half the size of a credit card that's looks like a miniature '70s calculator, when it launched they described it as "for the wallet". Only problem is first time it's in the wallet it knacks the little screen you have to read the code off of because it's so cheaply made.

LOL, I know what you mean about build quality. The first day I put it in my wallet as advised and half an hour later I sat down and it snapped. I just keep it by the computer desk now as I don't want to risk another catastrophe.

The 85mm is awesome, it really is! As I thought, it's my go to lens now as it's a similar length to the 50mm 1.4 on crop. Although I've had to dial in -7 for the Sigma 50mm 1.4 even though it's spot on with the 60D.

35L is very nice, but not used it much, maybe about half of the time on an outing the other week.

TBH teh slow focusing on the canon 85mm 1.2 is why I bought the sigma 85mm 1.4. a LOT cheaper and a cracking lens.

I'm interested I the new 35mkii rumours. If they brought out a copy as pin sharp as the new lenses, I'd be all over that. This 35L is very nice, but could be a touch sharper.
