Hi,
Ive owned my camera-1000D for just over a year now.
Ive been meaning to clean the sensor and just done it after reading up and watching utube most of this morning.

Ive removed the 2 large black dots but the finer "dust" has't gone. I cant see it on the lcd when a photo is taken and thers a fair bit so i was wondering if im able to clean my View plate? or somthing like that,

Iam a noob with opening up my camera!

If its showing on a actual photo (post one up) its likely to be dust on the sensor - everything else (mirror) moves out of the way when you take an image, and dust in the viewfinder wont show on the final photo.
 
Yeah ok , I understand that.
Just stood the camera upside down and gave it a few hard blows looks like its all gone towards the top its almost like a blur.
but will off load a image to fully check soon

Giving the view plate a few hard blows is as good as it gets until i buy a brush by the looks of it,
This is the test image ive just taken, I can only see the top right spot but its not in the way so ill leave it til next time,

Do not use a brush on the sensor, get a rocket blower, it is very powerful and will remove pretty well everything.

If it doesn't then you can get sensor wipes to do the job but be very careful with them, the sensor can be damaged easily.

If you do not feel confident in doing it go to your local camera shop and get them to do it for you, a damaged sensor is expensive to replace.

Quite a few places will clean it for you at a reasonable cost

I assume you were using a rocket blower or similar and not your mouth?!
 
Yes a rocket blower was used on sensor,
And used the pen after as there was some sticky dust there.
Only got the view finder left to clean but will leave that for another year ;)
