Yes
My Canon 1D MkIII seems to have a bust sensor. The camera functions all work yet when I press the shutter no image is recorded. All the camera information is displayed on the back of the screen, the histogram shows nothing and where the image should be is just black (but showing where the AF points were). I have checked the cards and lenses. I can only conclude that the sensor has gone. Anyone experienced this?

The only time I've seen a sensor go, an image was recorded but was all corrupt - a bit like when your TV signal breaks up

Shutter moves. In live view the screen is also black which makes me think either the sensor is gone or the electronics from the sensor are not being read.

No I am not a CPS member. I think it will have to go back to Canon though!!

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. The 1D MkIII had mirror sub-assembly problems and some were recalled for a fix. My serial number falls into the affected batch but it was never sent back for the fix as it worked!!
But I don't think it is the mirror sub assembly as the focus and tracking work perfectly. I'll see what CPS say!
