After a day out with the camera yesterday I noticed some black areas on my images when viewing them back on the pc.
checked the lens i'd used, that was fine...panic set in as I resigned myself to fiddling with the sensor :(

I hate doing stuff like that, and I don't have any cleaning gubbins here except for a rocket blower

So, I started off with some test shots of a plain piece of paper at f22 and f32 the first image showed the position of the crud, so into sensor cleaning mode I went.....

A quick fiddle round with the blower and an upturned camera body and I was left with

postsensor

If I tweak the image in PS, I can still see some evidence of the crud at f32 but after Janice's foray into the world of sensor cleaning it can stay there :p

I suppose you think that's funny showing me that!!! :bang: :bang: :D

no, not funny at all Janice

If I'd have read your thread this morning, I don't think I'd have been brave enough to fiddle in there

I hope you get yours sorted with as little outlay as possible, if you can't........I know where there's a 20d with low useage and a clean sensor for sale ;)

You mean that you actually used your camera DF?

I did.......I have another 30odd crap pictures cluttering up my hard drive now :(

I got round to printing a couple of A4's I took last year the other day, so not a great deal of hope for anything i've done recently :)

Since calibrating and profiling, i'm happy with the output on the whole, greens are a little in your face, but the images are no longer dark to the point of being useless.

What do those shots look like with auto-levels applied, DF?

Janice

I can sit here and change the levels/sat and hue all day and make the little bits still remaining on the sensor look bloody scary
Shadow contrast and highlight contrast tools make it look unreal!

The post clean pic was f32 and shows almost nothing, so i'm happy with that :)

I'm on the edge of buying a 5d too, so I'm cool with the sensor
