Just got a pinhole lens and whilst I like it the photos are largely unusable as my sensor is coated in dust! Hundreds of tiny spots. I've tried the air blower and cleaning mode already, didn't do anything

The downside of a true pinhole camera I suppose, and which I had never considered, there is nothing like a lens blocking stuff getting to the sensor. :(

Sounds like it is time for a wet clean for you. Either try it yourself or pay someone to do it. The former is way more cost effective.

Yea, I've left some tape over the hole to make sure no dust gets when I'm not using it.
Yea I wondered about that. I've got 2 cameras, both have the dust so I'll try on the cheaper one

You probably already had dust on the sensor as it's just a result of using interchangeable lens cameras. When you shoot with the pinhole you're basically shooting around F130 upwards so every spec of dust will show.

Yea, the tape is there to stop anymore! I've got a Sony a5000 as my backup camera so I'd happily just leave the pinhole on that providing I get it clean. If not then I might have to get a 6x6 pinhole, I don't print huge but the size I do print at I'm pretty sure the dust will be easily visible

Cleaning your sensor is easy and much less scary than some online posts/articles would have you believe. I've always just used a basic pec pad (buy them in bulk packs) and a simple plastic glue spreader that we used to use at school (again, buy bulk packs) with Eclipse fluid. All in you should be able to buy enough to last you the life of your camera for less than £20. Just remember to use only one to two drops of Eclipse on each Pec pad then swipe it one way across the sensor. If there are still dust spots, fold the pad over to use a clean part and do the same again. Will take you less than 10 minutes and job done.

Nice one, that's a good result. I've only shot pinhole on 120 film, never on my digital kit.
Cheers :). 120film is what got me into it actually. I was bought 120 hp5 instead of 35mm by mistake so went on Ebay looking for cheap cameras and came across 120pin hole cameras. I would like one day but I'm impatient! I like the instant results of digital lol.

Yeah, there are times where digital is the better option but I do like film pinhole. It's not as if pinhole is all about ultimate quality :0)

I printed my own pinhole around a Graflex 6x7 back and have got some good results. Maybe I'll put another film through it soon.
