Just been reading a thread where it shows how easy it is rather than send in camera and pay

As the lpf is in front of sensor

Does that mean it's more difficult/potentially damaging on the new wave of cameras such as d7100 without a lpf?
 
I don't think that the sensor would be left 'bare', there would still be a glass screen in front of it.
 
... and probably UV.
I'm just guessing, someone will know for sure.

It may not have a AA filter, but it will still have a IR (low pass) filter. In fact, if it's anything like the D800E, it still has 2x low pass filters.

No camera will leave the sensor bare, so don't worry. Even the D610 I've just butchered to remove all the filters from has had them all replaced with a custom made optically inert filter to protect the sensor. Leaving a sensor bare to the elements is not a good idea, and no manufacturer would do it... I hope.

Thanks guys so I assume same procedure for a csc other than not locking mirror up obviously :)
