Hi everyone, just joined and have a query about how I should clean my sensor on my Nikon D70 or leave it to the professionals

Welcome to TP. I've asked a mod to move this to the "talk equipment section" you will get more answers.

Me I do it myself so far.

Personally I don't like anything touching it physically, I invert it, use a good quality blower anduse a vacuum hose at a several inch distance, beware the vacuum can detach the sensor if you just shove it too near lol, the aim is just to draw downward any dust as you puff it ;)

Step 1. Blower brush.
Step 2. LensPen SensorKlear.
Step 3. IF NECESSARY, wet swap. (Only once had to do this on my D70 and it left smears which I had to remove using the SensorKlear again)

The sensor (actually, the low pass filter in front of it) is tougher than you might think. It IS possible to damage it but it's not easy.

As above really

First blower
Then a Lenspen (keep one just for the sensor)
Then wet clean with Eclipse, if needed.
Finish with the blower again, if I have done a wet clean.
