Morning all!!!

Where is the best place to buy sensor cleaning fluids?

Also which ones do you recommend?

Many thanks

Rob

I will tell you my story.

I was using local camera shop. They were charging £25 per cleaning. I have two cameras, that made it £50 per visit.

So I've decided to invest in my own cleaning solution.

I've bought Visible Dust sensor loupe, Pec Pads, Eclipse fluid and a pack of sensor swabs.

You will have to treat this as an investment. Think about how much I was spending before. £25 for 1 camera cleaning.

I'm now cleaning both sensors (D3, D7000) myself. It takes 5 minutes to read the tutorials and get you going.
The first time is always stressful but you need to realise that if you will follow all the instructions you WON'T damage your sensor.

I've cleaned my cameras 15-20 times already and with sensor loupe (expensive, I know - but it makes this thing SO MUCH EASIER!) it takes 2-3 swabs to get the sensor spotless.

I agree with Seb, I've wet cleaned my 5d2 a number of times. The first I nearly had a nervous breakdown but I just get on with it now.

I get my kit from

I use their own blue pads at the bottom of the page, they are better put together than eclipse ones.

Good link and you're right, the blue ones are good. And then you can reuse them with your own Pec Pads (the most cost effective solution).

I use an 'Arctic Flutterby', no probs, also mirror lockup, then suck dust out with battery vacuum cleaner,

I also use Pecpads plus home-made wand plus Eclipse 2 fluid. The latter is recommended for tin-oxide coated sensors such as used in Sony cameras.

DON'T use a Brillo pad I got a lovely shine on my sensor but the photos arn't so good now .
