Hi, Could anyone point me in the direction of tried, tested and recommended kit to clean the sensor of my D3. Seen lots of reviews on the like of Amazon but I'd obviously prefer to hit it direct from someone who uses a brand/type.

I also have a D7000, so I could do with a crop sensor solution also.

Thanks everyone

Hi
I use eclipe cleaning fluid with digipad sensor cleaning swabs.
Both where bought off ebay, done my 50D a few times with great sucess, use a rocket blower first.

The solution will work on both sensors as will the pads,

Thanks Spike. Any thoughts on what rocket blower?.... there seems to be a fair bit of choice out there for saying it blows air out!

....are the swabs just for cropped sensor and therefore they do both because they fit in the full frame sensor?

Hi TCR4x4, what do you mean by "plus one"?

It means he is suggestions what I have posted a link to. I used these after his suggestions and video of how to on YouTube. This is the link to the video using my phone so don't know how it will work on a pc. Watch the video it is very informative:

I've got a LensPen SensorKleer kit that I use for both FF and crop but I only resort to it if the rocket blower doesn't get rid of the dust first. I've done 5 or 6 cameras with the kit now and it works a treat. As it cost around £30 in the first place it's saved me quite a bit on cleaning costs.

Try Copper hills which is based in the states but their stuff is excellent and they post worldwide. I bought the international kit which with postage was as much as 2 packs of visible dust swabs and a bottle of eclipse. The amount of kit they supplied was fantastic and their sensor brush is supposed to be the best you can get.

I used to use an article butterfly - was never going to put methanol on the inside of my camera lol

Here is the answer to sensor leaning. It works great. I use this set up on my D3s and D7000. Just one wipe each way it works far better than all the other methods I tried. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9766&highlight=cleaning

Another vote for the SensorKlear lens pen system.

Works a treat and has done the job for myself a couple of times.
