I've bought a Canon 650D via ebay and the sensor has quite a few dust bunnies and what looks likes a hair.
I've used a rocket blower, lenspen sensorklear, soft brush designed for sensor cleaning and swabs and fluid and I just can't get it clean.
I've checked my photos and luckily nothing appears in them but it just annoys me seeing them in the viewfinder.
I know Jessops offer a sensor cleaning service but I am reluctant to use them.
Does anyone know a company in Hampshire that does a professional clean?

You will not see sensor dust & crud in the viewfinder....such sensor dust etc will show in the pictures especially at f11 or smaller........but sounds like either the eyepiece area needs a clean and/or the mirror & focus screen!

But do take care as both the mirror and the focus screen are delicate, so start with the blower and see how much you can shift.

I think the xxxD level bodies have a Pentamirror rather than a Pentaprism and dust has been known to get in there, so you might need a service shop to 'open' that space and remove the dust et al.

HTH :)

I did wonder if the hair and dust was elsewhere as the sensor looked clean with a torch.
I don't think I'm prepared to pay to have it stripped and clean so as long as it doesn't show on my photos I'll live with it.

Why are you cleaning your sensor if you are seeing dust in your viewfinder?

Dust in viewfinder means either dust in viewfinder (or the focus screen more likely) or the mirror.

Leave it, live with it, try cleaning this will make it worse.

I think the London camera exchange offer a camera cleaning service.
They may of course send it away to a canon service centre.

Dust that is clearly visible through the viewfinder will be on the underside of the focusing screen, just above the mirror. Anywhere else and it'll be too out of focus to see properly.

Use a rocket blower and be careful not to touch the focusing screen. It's made of plastic with very fine ridges on the surface (Fresnel rings) and it's easy to leave a permanent mark. Annoying, but harmless :)
