Quick question, how do people email a set of pictures to a client? I've had an order for 6 pictures and was going to just email them across but they're 7mb

I don't want this to be a debate about costings, pricings or anything other than sending a batch of photos by email

7 mb total well actually 7.8 mb

Sorry my wording wasn't clear, I meant the folder they're in is 7.8 mb zipped

Yes, that was what I was thinking. Wanted to avoid that though but if it's the only way, I suppose that's what I need to do

Thanks

Yes, good point

Most ISP's have a limit for attachments to emails - the majority I believe is 20mb, some lower at 10mb - where you run across this limit - normally the email system will tell you the message failed to get through, you could use a service such as Dropbox - Free for up to 2gb - click here

I would recommend drop box also, use it send and receive images all the time. Great and useful.

Ok, thanks. I'll have a look at dropbox. Think my tablet has s dropbox app as well so I can do it from that while out and about too :D

Try Usendit to ftp them? I use Mac's Cloud and it sends people a link to the pics so they can download. Put them in a folder and zip it first.

Have they got FTP?

Failing that you could upload to a sub folder on your website and send them a download link.

No, doubt it and it's not through my own website

Dropbox here too, quick easy and I normally set a time limit for them to download from, keeps me under the 2gb limit. Also if they install it from your link you get bonus space for free.

If you email them i would let them know they are coming first, i sent some to someone ona works email address a few weeks back and they had this odd filter on which threw the email in the trash due to the size!! i guess most people dont have there account set up like that thou

An alternative to Dropbox is minus.com - free account with 10gb limit. Just drag and drop your photos from your folder onto the browser and they upload automatically.

Gives you folder and individual image download links, along with links to allow you to post thumbnails onto forums.

Thanks all, I will look into the suggestions and see what's easiest for the recipients ( and me lol)

It does if it's hotmail apparently  has a little paddy if there's anything too big. Although, I admit, this was a while ago. Just haven't sent anything too big since, or rather haven't needed to

I would send them all in one email

I'll try the one email thing first then

As I said, it was a few years back but I suppose it's the 21st Century now
