Hey folks, looking to see whats the best way to send files wireless to a PC automatically from a dslr. Are we talking something like an EYE-FI card? Im perhaps looking something with a bit more range than WiFi setup I think. I have a D810 and a D750 if that makes any difference.

Can be done either by the card or the camera (with peripheral hardware)

The Card - Eye-fi cards but I have read they are not the best acting as data cards for DSLRs
The Camera - Nikon do WT (wireless transfer) and are now on v7 of this hardware. I use WT-6. This can be configured to send to either a web connected hub (with wireless capability) acting as a data source which you can then access by a computer - theoretically anywhere in the world.
Or you can send the files to a nearby computer that shares the WT wireless. If you transfer the files into a drop box folder then they will be sync'd to drop box and again become available theoretically anywhere in the world.

Camranger do a piece of hardware
Case Air also do hardware

Eye fi cards are crap. There is nothing good to be said for them. I know loads of photographer, including myself who have brought one thinking it was a good idea, only to discover how poorly they work and how much time you waste trying to get them to work.

Much better off with the manufacturers solution.

Hmm I have a neat little workflow going - EyeFi -> Mobile phone (Samsung S7) -> Google drive. Photos are auto moved from phone to google drive so i don't have to worry about space requirements other than flushing eyefi card.

have a look at some software called qdslrdashboard . I use it for my mobile studio
Does it do file transfer? the spec say it is for controlling Nikon, Canon and Sony cameras, but doesn't really detail if it does file transfer. It also says that you might need either USB the WU-1a/1b or Nikon built in wireless or to set up a Network.

Most of these work via WiFi Yes? if I was to work them over wifi I would assume I would have to enable hotspot on my mobile and have another device attached to my PC to download them again to it?
