Sending CD/DVD by post

Has anyone had any issues sending out DVD's by post, I sent one out full of images last week but have been told that most of them won't open. Now I checked them all on my PC before sending and they were fine. I've been told it could be Royal Mail's sorting equipment and something to do with magnetism. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

You sure you finalised it? A unfinalised disk will work fine on the machine it was created on but not others.

It maybe it's their DVD drive is faulty, or could be it just doesn't like the brand of blank dvds you're using.

Thanks for the replies, I am going try again and make sure I finalise it, although I've never had trouble before. They are good quality discs so I'm not sure that's the problem.

there could always be the possibility that the recipient is trying to blag a 2nd copy.

maybe ask them to send it back first?

It's not un usual to get a disk that reads OK on the original machine, but fails to open on another. I've had it happen, not often but it does occur.

Usually re burning the disk often cures the problem. When it's happened to me I've used a slower write speed just to be safe.
