My Dad has one of these but it's the simple straight from camera variety, and he's been asking me if I know of any newer models that allow basic editing of the image before printing?

Ideally it would allow cropping / zooming, plus lightening / darkening.

As he uses Canon gear, he'd either be plugging in a 40D or the CF card if a card reader is available.

Any recommendations? I think he can do limited cropping on the kit he's currently got.

You could look at the HiTi P510S, bigger spend perhaps, but lets you do alot.

I have the selphy cp800. I don't think it does any image editing at all.
I get round this by using it in conjunction with a netbook running lightroom.

Your right about bigger spending, from an £80 selphy to a £1100 HiTi P510S thats a LOT bigger spending.

That is why I said it. :) You get what you pay for. The Hiti is a high capacity roll fed machine, that prints 6x4, 7x5 and 6x9" prints , very quickly.

It's to let you know such things exist.

he maybe does not need such an expensive machine.

is it for home printing or are you wanting to provide on site prints for customers.

I do my basic editing in iphoto then send it to the selphy

It's for home use - nothing commercial. He doesn't want the faff of a laptop or any sort of PC, but wondered if there was anything out there that provided limited editing options.

I think anything over £150 would be expensive on a pensioner's income... :)

Well that is definately the HiTi out of the running.

Seems to have been sorted, at least temporarily by my lending of the 40D to him. The camera has more options for the printer, built in, so can adjust levels, brightness, contrast etc, and crop in more.

Good job too, as Selphy don't seem to do anything remotely like what I was after! Thanks for the comments anyway :)
