Selling a camera - which courier to use

I ways use RMSD however recently it's not been without it's issues.
I sent a phone to London fully insured and the tracking never changed once. In fact even now 3 months later it still says it hasnt been delivered.
Thankfully the buyer never made a claim on it saying it hadn't arrived otherwise it would have been a right ballache.

I note that you say issues, plural, but only give one instance, singular. So which is it?

Faults can arise with any service, the world ain't perfect ...

RM signed-for services remain one of my top choices along with DPD.

which makes a mockery of the charges people put on listings on places like ebay
Other than adding "go RMSD", I tend to offer free postage and bake the actual cost of the postage into my BIN price. Offering free postage tends to attract more interest and I would imaging putting £25 down as the postage costs would be off putting. Most buyers have no idea how much it costs ("less than a tenner" is probably the guess).

It's largely the reason why almost all my camera gear now gets p/x'd or commission sold. Both Wex and Ffordes will pay to collect your gear so that's zero risk to you. I recently sold all my Fuji stuff to Wex and the price they gave me was pretty much what I'd get on eBay and well in excess of what somewhere like here would drive you down to. More if you count in the cost of postage and potential issues with dodgy buyers. Obviously you didn't ask this question, so apologies if you're determined to sell it yourself.

Even better value is Royal Mail now collect from your home for an extra 72p per parcel..
Beats standing in the Post Office queue whilst someone posts all their Ebay crap in hundreds of little separate bags.

Calm down!

Ive had a few items go missing this month using rmsd too.. the sellers had to claim.. Happy now?

I clearly said I’d only use RMSD

Good morning all. I know this is an old thread, but am i allowed to mention the company that I work for? They send camera equipment and can fully insure them against loss or damage, even lenses. The prices are lower than Royal Mail too.

Avoid Hermes at all costs, in fact id rather drop kick my parcel in the bin than use Hermes, the most disgusting company I have had the horror to deal with
